Coopers Hawk on the brush pile

A couple of weeks ago I finished putting the garden to bed for the winter. Every year I top it off with a brush pile to be shelter for birds during the winter. Whenever you put out a bird feeder, or shelter, you inevitably create a hawk feeder as well. We have a couple of neighborhood Coopers hawks. Usually, I can never get out there in time with the camera, but this morning we were lucky. It was so focused on the angrily scolding sparrows deep within the brush pile, that I was able to get within 10 feet of it. This morning the hunt was unsuccessful. But, that is not always the case. Many times I have found evidence of success.
Remember to 'like' and 'share' the love of nature!
